There are some pieces of news you want to share slowly, savoring every word, because they don't come along every day. This is one of them: Quinta Tech won the Mexican edition of the 2026 KPMG Private Enterprise Global Tech Innovator competition., and with that victory, it also earned a spot in the global final in Lisbon, Portugal, this November, where it will represent Mexico against startups from nearly 16 countries.
If you know us, you know that at Quinta we have long insisted on something that sounds almost provocative: that tires matter. That the piece of rubber we all take for granted—the one rolling along silently, literally supporting every journey—deserves technology, data, and attention. Miguel Gutiérrez Elizondo, our founder and CEO, put it with our characteristic simplicity: “We are in a very unsexy industry—tires—but they are incredibly important. We don’t aim to reinvent the wheel, but rather to make it smart.” And today, that stubborn dream has gained national recognition that fills us with pride.
What KPMG acknowledged
The competition, which held its sixth consecutive edition in Mexico this year, evaluated participants based on innovation and disruption, market potential, customer adoption, commercial traction, scalability, and presentation quality. Our sensor technology—featuring Bluetooth connectivity and AI integration and capable of monitoring over 30 variables (such as wear, pressure, temperature, and load) in real time—convinced the jury that tire telemetry is not merely a niche curiosity, but a cornerstone of transport efficiency and safety in Mexico.
The numbers speak for themselves, but we like to share them because behind each one there is a client who has trusted us since we launched in January of this year: 42% longer tire life, 55% fewer punctures and blowouts, up to 10% fuel savings, and an average monthly savings of 6,200 pesos per unit. Figures that are already being experienced in fleets in Mexico and the United States, and that now have the support of one of the most respected innovation competitions in the country.
This is no coincidence.
And we want to be very clear about something, because we feel it is important to say it out loud: none of this happened overnight. Yes, our flagship product has been on the market for less than a year. But behind that year lie more than five years of technological trial and error—involving sensors that didn’t work, prototypes that fell by the wayside, and lessons learned through our own mistakes—as well as over a decade of accumulated industry knowledge, truly understanding the challenges of the tire sector before attempting to solve them. What KPMG is celebrating today is neither a stroke of luck nor an idea born by accident. It is passion, knowledge, and a driving desire to change the world—even if it’s just one tire at a time.
Thanks to our Quint family.iana
Before moving on, we need to pause here, because this award doesn’t bear just one name: it carries the names of each and every person who makes up the Quinta family. To those who code late into the night, those who climb onto trucks to install sensors under the blazing sun, those who answer customers with infinite patience, and those who believe in this project even on days when nothing goes according to plan—this recognition belongs to you. Thank you for your time, your talent, and your heart, which you have poured into this idea—an idea that is no longer just an idea.
Thanks to those who believed first.
And there is a debt of gratitude we wish to acknowledge here: the one we owe to our first customers. To those who said "yes" when we were still a startup with no accolades, no press releases, and no one else who trusted us. You took a chance on Quinta when doing so was an act of faith, not an obvious choice. Every sensor we installed, and every fleet that operates more safely and efficiently today, began with you believing in us long before the rest of the world did. This award belongs to you, too.
Thank you, KPMG.
We want to start where we should: by thanking KPMG Mexico. Thank you for creating and sustaining, edition after edition, a space where Mexican technological entrepreneurship can show itself, compete and grow. Thanks to Jesús Luna, Lead Partner of Private Enterprise, for recognizing that “Innovation is one of the main drivers of growth and competitiveness for our country.”, and to Diego Bojórquez, Director of Innovation at KPMG Ignition, for noticing something we experience every day at Quinta: “This year, we are seeing startups with a deeper focus on AI to deliver value.” Being seen, evaluated, and chosen by a jury like that is no mere formality; it is a vote of confidence that the entire team feels. As Miguel said upon receiving the news: “Being recognized as winners represents a very important milestone in our journey.”
Thanks to those who told this story.
No news story travels alone, and this one owes a great deal to the media outlets that decided it was worth telling. Thanks to El CronistaThank you for so accurately capturing the spirit of what we do—turning tires into data—and for giving full voice to our business model and our understanding of the industry. ExpansiónTo put into context something that is central for us: that tires are “a very big problem and are somewhat forgotten by technology,” and to connect our work with an urgent reality for Mexico: road safety. Thanks to El EconomistaThank you for contributing your scope and rigor to the coverage of this achievement. Mi Punto de VistaThank you for dedicating not one but two articles to us, placing us within a broader conversation about how Mexican startups are taking artificial intelligence beyond the fintech world. And thanks to Vanguardia Industrial, on the grounds that industrial innovation also deserves headlines.
Each of you took a story about sensors and tires and turned it into a story about Mexico—about what we are capable of building when we decide to bring intelligence to the everyday. That is not something you repay with a press release; it is something you acknowledge with your heart.
What's next: heading to Lisbon
And now, the atmosphere at the Quinta offices is a blend that is rarely easy to describe precisely: gratitude, adrenaline, and a tremendous drive to keep going. In November, we will travel to Lisbon to represent Mexico in the global final of the KPMG Global Tech Innovator competition, facing off against startups from around the world. We aren’t setting out to prove that tires can be smart—we already demonstrated that on the road, kilometer by kilometer. We are going to show that an “unsexy” industry—as Miguel puts it—can be the setting for one of this year’s most exciting tech stories.
If anyone asks us what’s next, the answer is simple: keep rolling. With our Quinta family, with the clients who opened their doors to us from day one, and—yes—with Qbot and Quintín joining us for every kilometer of this journey that is just beginning. Enjoy the journey —lo decimos siempre, y hoy lo sentimos más que nunca.
